Apple Music has come out with a new karaoke feature for users to singalong to their favorite songs with: Apple Music Sing.

Karaoke has seen a massive revival in recent years, and is no longer limited to late nights at bars. More and more people are wanting to sing with friends in karaoke rooms, host karaoke parties at home, or even sing to themselves while on the go. The release of Apple Music Sing follows Spotify Karaoke Mode in a recent trend of music streaming services offering users karaoke oriented features.

What is Apple Music Sing?

Apple Music Sing is the newest add on to Apple Music. Now users have the ability to activate a karaoke mode that will allow them to singalong with all of their favorite Apple Lyrics enabled songs using an AI technology.

Apple Music Sing includes the following features:

  • Adjustable vocals: You can adjust the vocals on the original track to sing along with your favorite songs, or remove the original vocals entirely sing on your own.
  • Real-time lyrics: As you would expect with a karaoke tool, the lyrics get highlighted along with the vocals tracks.
  • Background vocals: When singing you will also be shown the lyrics for background vocals to sing separately.
  • Duet view: Similiar to Smule, you can now sing along side multiple singers.
  • Companion playlists: There will be a set of 50 or so playlists with classic karaoke hits.

When will Apple Music Sing be available?

Apple Music Sing is currently availible with the iOS 16.2 update.

Do I need a subscription to use Apple Music Sing?

Yes. You do need an active Apple Music solution to use it. It should be noted that Apple Music Sing is not available to Apple Music Voice Plan Subscribers.

What devices is Apple Music Sing available on?
