FunSports Area Troisdorf: How they turned their VR room into a karaoke room

FunSport Area in Troisdorf is an Entertainment center that offers Lasertag, an escape room, and a karaoke room. Post-COVID, they saw a growing demand for intimate group activities and decided to turn their VR gaming room into a karaoke room to offer something new to their customers.

The karaoke room was designed to feel like a cozy living room, helping guests feel more at ease performing. The room fits up to 20 people and can be booked if you're a solo singer or for groups wanting a great night out. Customers have responded very positively, praising the room’s design, sound setup, and tech. Singa was chosen for its large song library, customizable features, and strong customer support.

"We thought about making this karaoke area a bit cozier because we know from our own experience that it's not always easy to sing in front of others and to step out of your comfort zone.

We felt it'd be more comfortable in a cozy setting, where it's easier for people to open up and express themselves. So we tried to set it up like a living room, to create a more relaxed atmosphere from the start.

So far, all the groups have used the room in a very chill way, whether it’s someone singing alone or a big group going all out for their company party."

We have received very good feedback so far regarding the design of the whole room, but also the use of the stage and the different microphones and also the separate monitor for the person singing.

"In the beginning, of course, we had to overcome some small hurdles, in this case the technical issues: How does the sound work best? Which mics to use for the best experience for singers and performers.

Another minor issue was constantly trying to find songs we didn't have. But that wasn't a problem at all, because we were able to interact very well with Singa and get the new songs."

"We chose Singa because Singa has one of the best ranges of songs, the variables, for example with or without vocals, and also because we have the opportunity to add songs that are not yet in the library. This includes classic German hits or really interesting songs that nobody knows. We find it and Singer implements it.

We also like to use the customer's own playlists in advance. In other words, customers simply download the app, create their own playlist and once you're here, you can get started straight away with your songs and suggestions."

"One of the biggest pros is the fast customer support, feedback from Singa, accessibility, and solution-focused approach. We've had great experiences with support, whether it's quick fixes or adding new songs. We've always been very responsive and accessible, both ways.

The Singa Originals have been a big hit so far. Some customers chose these songs from the start, saying they were much better than the classic options."
