Running a karaoke lounge in your club or bar no longer has to mean hiring a dedicated KJ (karaoke jockey) or assigning staff to manage queues and devices. With the rise of self-service karaoke, your guests can take full control of their experience, selecting songs, building queues, and singing on their own terms.

Self-service karaoke reduces your staffing needs, streamlines operations, and delivers a modern, intuitive experience that today’s guests expect. Whether you’re managing multiple rooms or a lively open lounge, this approach keeps things smooth and scalable.

Why self-service karaoke works

Guests love independence

Today’s karaoke fans want quick access to songs, instant control over playback, and the freedom to sing without waiting for a host. Self-service delivers just that, making the experience more empowering and engaging.

Less staff, more efficiency

No need to hire or train a dedicated KJ. Self-service setups allow your team to focus on hospitality, food, and drink while karaoke runs on autopilot.

Self-service karaoke at Kraken

Kraken started with self-service karaoke in 2023 where they added karaoke into their private lounger where small parties could sing karaoke. But the karaoke was so in demand that they added it across the whole venue.

To start the self-service karaoke, people simply need to go to the stage area where they have a microphone and an iPad set-up with Singa Pro in kiosk mode.

Guests can select their songs and add them to the queue. There are screens throughout the venue where people can sing along with the lyrics. A scrolling banner at the bottom of the screen displays a list of the upcoming singers and their approximate wait time.

How Singa Kiosk Mode makes it possible

To support fully self-service karaoke, Singa Business offers Kiosk Mode, a powerful feature that locks your karaoke interface to a single app.

With Kiosk Mode enabled:

  • Guests interact only with the karaoke app
  • System settings stay protected
  • Your devices remain focused and easy to manage

It is a simple way to deliver freedom for guests while keeping control and consistency behind the scenes.

Let guests take the mic on their own

Self-service karaoke is the future of the lounge experience: intuitive, efficient, and guest-first. And with tools like Singa Kiosk Mode, it is easier than ever to run a modern venue without the need for a full-time KJ.
