Nope, karaoke is not dead, it's more alive than ever
When I think of karaoke, I think of happiness.
Whether I’m at a pub singing with the locals or battling to be the next singer in a karaoke box with friends, the mood is always the same, people are happy! Everybody is laughing together and nobody within the walls of the venue feel like a stranger anymore. Singing together has that magic way of making people feel connected, they let their guard down and don’t take life so seriously anymore.
But I am aware that some people don’t share this view and instead have a negative association with the word karaoke, why is this? I have a theory:
I can understand how you might be a little put off by the idea of yet another evening with this setup on repeat!
1. Karaoke has been looking outdated for a couple of decades now. The karaoke screens have been attacking our eyes with blurry lyrics and insulted our vision with color combinations that should be illegal, quite frankly!
2. Is that somebody’s ringtone from the 90’s or is that MIDI sounding noise supposed to be the background track of the song? Aouch, my ears hurt too!
3. How do you request a song again? Right, you have to hunt down that ginormous binder and flip through some beer soaked pages of songs of yesterday, scribble down the request on a little piece of paper with a stolen IKEA pencil, and battle your way through the crowds to hand deliver your note. Fun.
This is how karaoke has looked like for the past 30+ years, so I can understand how you might be a little put off by the idea of yet another evening with this setup on repeat!
But here’s the good news:
Singa was created to blow the dust off the old karaoke nights and finally give them the makeover they’ve so long deserved!
With Singa the videos and lyrics are in HD, the background tracks sounds like they should in the year 2019, and song requests can be sent straight from the singers’ mobile phones to the queue.
The library of over 80 000 songs is frequently updated with new additions, immediately available to you, so there's always new songs to try out.
To make it even easier for venues to run karaoke nights, Singa also comes with integrated background music that plays automatically in between tracks and it has a marketing feature, that gives you the option to display ads on the screens.
Karaoke never lost its popularity with the crowds, and now that more and more venues are finding their way back to karaoke thanks to Singa, it’s on a steady rise back on the scene again! So. Nope, karaoke is not dead, it's more alive than ever - and it never looked better!
