25 easiest karaoke songs for males to sing

1. Wonderwall – Oasis

Liam and Noel Gallagher represented the true men (lads if you will) of 90’s Britpop. And while “Wonderwall” could easily be a staple of singalongs with Millennial girls, it’s a song that will always be associated with the boys. Liam’s nasal delivery of the track’s puzzling yet iconic lyrics makes this one of the most memorable tracks of the last 30 years. And one of the easiest to mimic.

2. I Want It That Way – Backstreet Boys

A boy band ballad from late 1999? Yes, please! “I Want It That Way” marked the start of a gradual departure from the genre when it was released, but that’s only given it even more power. Today, busting out this schmaltzy croon-a-long still grabs everybody’s attention and keeps them enthralled until the last notes.

3. Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond

THE karaoke track to beat ALL karaoke tracks. Everybody loves Neil Diamond, and they also, inexplicably, know the words to this default singalong track. Few male singers have as extensive a catalogue as Diamond…but this bouncy ode (to someone we’re pretty sure is named Caroline) will always be his signature.

4. Let It Be – The Beatles

Standard, male karaoke fare gets no simpler and gut-wrenching than this legendary track by Lennon-McCartney (or McCartney-Lennon depending on where you stand). A stark chorus, and somber piano melody, and lyrics that pack a punch. A great, easy track to belt out. It's also the most popular Beatles song for karaoke.

5. Hallelujah – Leonard Cohen

This song has been covered to death, and almost always successfully. So while that may be an intimidating task, Cohen’s monotone delivery is easy to replicate and make your own. “Hallelujah” is a beautiful track, but it might not be the best one to undertake at the beginning of the evening if you’re looking to get the crowd amped up.

6. Livin’ on a Prayer – Bon Jovi

A high energy, crowd-pleaser if ever there was one. This 80’s staple by Jon Bon Jovi and the boys is not only a karaoke go-to, but it’s also remarkably easy to pull off – mostly because even the highest notes tend to get drowned out by the crowd singing along. A perfect track to start or end the evening.

7. Nothing Else Matters – Metallica

The masters of metal toned it down and cranked out this heavy ballad in 1992, resulting in a stone-cold karaoke classic, one truly for the boys. Featuring simple instrumentation, low vocals, and a lot of guts, this is a cool, easy track to take on.

8. Hurt – Johnny Cash

You thought Leonard Cohen was intense? Be forewarned: this early 2000’s slow burner is equally heavy. Johnny Cash has one of the deepest, manliest vocal deliveries in the history of country rock music, but the subject matter of Trent Reznor’s “Hurt” can cross boundaries and barriers and light a spark in just about anyone.

9. It’s My Life – Bon Jovi

It’s no surprise that Bon Jovi has two tracks on this list, even less surprising that they are both in the top 10. Nobody knows how to start a karaoke party than the boys from New Jersey. “It’s My Life” comes fifteen years after “Livin’ On a Prayer”, which only speaks to the staying power of this great American band’s catchy, pop-rock catalogue.

10. Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver

This folksy tale from soft-rock legend John Denver is a curious track to take on. It’s equal parts wistful, sappy, sweet, and raucous, yet it always manages to bring audiences to their feet. Just a few guitar notes and Denver’s soft-spoken delivery make it an easy, yet fun song to tackle.

11. Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd

Wherever you are in America, or in many parts of the world, “Sweet Home Alabama” is gospel. Arguably Lynyrd Skynyrd’s biggest hit, it’s also one of the must-try karaoke tracks for girls and boys. Relatable, catchy, poignant…this track has it all.

13. Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley

Sometimes, there’s truly nothing like a sappy Elvis ballad to make the girls go crazy. Even sweaty, past-his-prime Elvis managed to make the girls go crazy with this sentimental crowd-pleaser. Best of all, it’s an easy cover because you can also capture all of the King’s Elvis-isms and work them into a campy, over-the-top performance.

14. Ring of Fire – Johnny Cash

A barn burner, a palate cleanser, a tinderbox. This iconic track, a staple of outlaw rock, managed to satisfy convicted felons when Cash first sang it at Folsom Prison. And if it’s good enough for convicted felons…

15. Hey Jude – The Beatles

Despite the sad message behind the lyrics, “Hey Jude” is one of the most pleasing and recognizable songs ever written, certainly one of the best from the lads from Liverpool. With its simple melody and haunting arrangements, this is a simple and straightforward cover that offers a big payoff.

16. Let Her Go – Passenger

Soft rock never sounded so sweet. This sugary, lighthearted modern ballad was a big hit in 2012, and its only legacy has only grown stronger thanks to the boys and men brave enough to tackle track’s vulnerable message.

17. Hotel California – Eagles

A rock n’ roll epic, “Hotel California” is more than a great 70’s track. It’s a mystery, a ghost story. If you’ve got Don Henley’s vocal chops, and the air guitar skills to tackle that minutes-long solo, you should have no trouble making a meal out of this song.

18. Ain’t No Sunshine – Bill Withers

A lovelorn Bill Withers crooning about a lost romance? Somehow, it works. Really, really well. “Ain’t No Sunshine” is an R&B classic in so many ways, but mostly, it’s an excellent karaoke track for any man to tap into and connect with. Find the groove, channel the pain, and you’ll have the audience eating out of your hand.

19. To Make You Feel My Love – Garth Brooks

Written by Bob Dylan, this sorrowful love letter of a track has been covered by everybody from Adele to Neil Diamond to Pink, but it’s the king of contemporary country, Garth Brooks, who manages to give it the necessary muscles and turn it into the ultimate karaoke flex.

20. I Can See Clearly Now – Johnny Nash

Tinged with reggae and soul, this R&B classic from Johnny Nash has been covered extensively over the past 50+ years. But it remains a staple of karaoke boys’ night because of its simple lyrics, forthright vocals and catchy harmonies.

21. Mr. Brightside – The Killers

Like “Wonderwall” for the early 2000’s, eye-lined indie pop boys, “Mr. Brightside” came out of nowhere nearly 20 years ago and has been a karaoke singalong ever since. It is even the most sang karaoke song in the UK. The Killers took pop camp, slick production, and an iconic video and spun radio gold with this one.

22. Friends in Low Places – Garth Brooks

Everybody’s got one of those friends. And if you can manage to channel Garth’s gritty drawl, you’ve got a great chance of turning this low-key hysterically funny country song into your own.

23. Riptide – Vance Joy

The debut single from this Aussie songwriter grew comparisons to Jeff Buckley when it was first released in 2013. Since then, it has become a folk pop fixture, and despite its vocals, it remains easy to channel.

24. Summer of ‘69 – Bryan Adams

In the spirit of Bon Jovi’s infectious, power-pop repertoire, this nostalgic run-through of Adams’ early childhood is primo. Guitar riffs, wailing vocals, attention-grabbing hooks, and a singalong chorus guaranteed to please, “Summer of ‘69” is also incredibly easy to access. Experienced or not, this is a great option for karaoke.

25. Fields of Gold – Sting

Another gut-puncher, this choice cut from Sting’s mid-90’s catalogue might get you choked up, or riled up, or both. Either way, it’s a great and easy entry to round off this list. Get your lighters up!
